This session will provide guidance for writing compliant and effective impact and need statements related to the student’s disability to create the present levels of academic achievement and functional performance (PLAAFPs) which leads to development of an appropriate individualized education program (IEP). This session can also help LEAs improve IEP content and development practices. Case studies will be used and participants will get practice in developing impact & need statements.

While case studies will be provided, participants are also encouraged to bring their own redacted FIE.
