Adapted Books: ALL Things Literacy for Students with Complex Access Needs
Share
Adapted books make reading accessible to all students regardless of their disability. Adapted
books can help connect students with literacy who may have deficits with communication, visual impairments, cognitive challenges, and/or motor impairments. Learning how to adapt literature can also meet the sensory needs of the students in our classrooms. Adapted books help reach all reading levels to ensure lessons in all subjects are differentiated while fun is being had by all!
Participants in this session will learn the whys and hows of creating adapted books and walk
away with a completed adapted book to take back to their classroom!
