Reaching Older Learners Through the Science of Reading
4-12 with Reading Horizons




      


Reading Horizons is coming to Region 5  to provide educators with an overview of the science of reading from a practical perspective and how to apply specific strategies to support older learners. We will define the science of reading and discuss the processes involved with learning to read, demystify and unlock the English language by learning seven decoding patterns, and focus on how to structure lessons to meet the needs of older learners by emphasizing multi-sensory dictation practice and the transfer of skills to connected text.

Audience: RLA Teachers, Instructional Coaches, & RLA Coordinators
