Participants will become familiar with the ESC 18 Legal Framework resources, the required components to be addressed for student ARD meetings, prior written notice, organizational skills to meet required timelines, Dyslexia services and special education, and explore ways to facilitate consensus among ARD committee members.
Participants will be asked to complete an 18 hour online course in ARD facilitation techniques prior to attending this session.
The last day of the session will be spent with Paula Roalson, a special education attorney with the Walsh Gallegos law firm. She will be presenting Best Practices for ARD Meetings: A Legal Perspective.
