Fentanyl Awareness and Opioid Overdose Response Training for School Staff will be offered in the upcoming months as a live one-hour Zoom training. Texas Education Code § 38.224(a)-(c) requires that each school campus subject to a policy adopted under this section have one or more school personnel or school volunteers authorized and trained to administer an opioid antagonist present during regular school hours. This particular training option meets the legal requirements outlined in the statute. Districts have the option to continue using the training source they have used in the past, or they have the option to choose this training provided by Region 5 ESC.
