Participants attending this session will define communication and establish the importance of teaching communication skills for students with complex access needs. They will demonstrate the relationship between communication and behavior, review considerations in developing and acquiring communication systems, and investigate student response modes. In addition, participants will explore strategies for teaching communication skills and discover ways to effectively connect communication and instruction.
