In every special education classroom, there might be a wide range of learner instructional skills, including strengths, needs and interests. Also, every teacher is committed to ensuring that each student receives meaningful and engaging instruction tailored to those diverse needs through differentiated instruction aligned with grade level instruction.
This session will guide and support teachers as they develop structured work tasks that are aligned with grade level standards and Individual Education Plan [IEP] goals that teach and promote independence. For students with more complex needs, this session will include errorless learning possibilities. The technique involves ensuring that the individual always responds correctly. During errorless teaching, the individual is prompted to prevent any mistakes or incorrect responses.
This session will also provide instructional resources, literacy activities, math activities, assistive technology possibilities and internet resources. Teachers will have an opportunity to develop materials, including structured work tasks, work systems and communication tools that will promote student success and independence for all.
