CSEP Advanced Interpretation 2-Part Series

Day 1 -  Specific Learning Disabilities Series: Advanced Test Interpretation (1/12/23)

The Core-Selective Evaluation Process (CSEP) uses norm-referenced tests with a PSW framework. This session will examine case study data in a manner that goes beyond standard score analysis of the broad CHC factors. Participants will have a greater understanding of other scores available (e.g., RPI, CALP, nonverbal, narrow ability clusters). In addition, participants will be able to utilize a task demand analysis to obtain a much deeper understanding of the learner and explain learning.

Day 2 - Specific Learning Disabilities Series: Informal Data Collection and Integration (4/3/23)

The Core-Selective Evaluation Process utilizes multiple sources of data. TEA is clear that evaluators need to use multiple sources of data and not over-rely on norm-referenced tests to make decisions. In fact, evaluators are encouraged to use curriculum-based measurement to describe a student’s pattern of strengths and weaknesses and link it to instruction. Participants will learn how to integrate informal data from other sources and learn three assessment strategies that are curriculum-based.
