The TEA created session will explore effective early childhood instruction which involves a structured
focus on reading, critical thinking, oral language development, and writing. Within each of these areas are
components of a balanced literacy framework, which includes being read to by a proficient reader and writer, reading
and writing with a proficient reader and writer, along with other students, and reading and writing independently.
