On day 1, you will hear two different presentations, 1) SLD/Dyslexia and the FIE and 2) SLD/Dysgraphia and Dyscalculia and the FIE. The SLD/Dyslexia presentation will: (a) provide a comparative analysis of the definitions of SLD and Dyslexia, (b) review the flowchart for evaluation of Dyslexia, (c) discuss assessment procedures for the FIE that include the determination of SLD BRS and/or RF with Dyslexia, and (d) apply the information to two case studies involving examples of writing conclusions in the FIE. Case studies and sample conclusions will be provided. The SLD/Dysgraphia and Dyscalculia presentation will facilitate a better understanding of the underlying causes of dysgraphia. Case studies will help develop the participants’ ability to use both formal and informal data for evaluation and identification. This training will facilitate a comprehensive assessment of SLD in writing and math, which incorporates all of the elements for dysgraphia and dyscalculia. Sample conclusions will be provided.
