There will be an opportunity to map out key areas in your classroom based on your projected student needs to set the stage for a positive learning environment.  In addition, there will be materials and time for you to “make and take” specific visual supports to create labels for key areas, labels for well-organized materials, clear expectations, self-regulation tools and more.  Through collaboration and purposeful planning, we can and will achieve less stress and MORE SUCCESS in 202

7/14/2021 The Power of Predictability: Structure, Routines & Visual Tools
People thrive on predictability, structure and routine to varying degrees.  Stress is well known to affect learning and motivation.  Giving students a sense of order and calm is paramount to setting the stage for learning, motivation and success.
With routines and structure, there is more predictability which helps to create feelings of comfort, security and calm, which can lead to fewer behavioral problems.  This is something that teachers and parents want for all their students and children.
Establishing structure and routines with visual tools in classrooms can clarify expectations while easing the difficulties with transitions, changes in the routine and the unpredictability of everyday life for students across grade levels.  This session will provide an opportunity to create class schedules, individualized student schedule
