Designing Your Classroom to Work for You and Your Students: From Individualization to Data Collection

Christine Reeve, Ph.D., BCBA-D

Autism Classroom Resources & Reeve Autism Consulting, LLC

Follow the journey of setting up a classroom from learning about the students to analyzing the data.  This workshop will focus on specific systems you can put in place to support individual needs of the students from planning instruction and the physical environment to putting in place data systems that give you information you need without crowding out the instruction.  The morning presentation will walk through planning individual instruction and setting yourself up for success with review of methods and tools for planning out the schedule, designing the physical space and organizing the staff.  In the afternoon, you’ll walk through how to build on these programs and add in the development of a system of data collection and analysis.  The presenter will focus throughout on real classroom examples with forms and tools to support implementation of these strategies after the workshop is completed.

Objectives:

Upon completion of this workshop, participants will…

  1. Access and review tools for planning out individual student instruction
  2. Be familiar with strategies for taking individual instructional needs and establishing the classroom schedule based on them.
