Introduction to the Texas Kindergarten Entry Assessment
July 27, 2020

The Texas Kindergarten Entry Assessment (TX-KEA)! Housed on the CLI Engage platform, TX-KEA is a comprehensive and time-efficient kindergarten screener developed by child development and assessment experts at The University of Texas Health Science Center’s Children’s Learning Institute. TX-KEA’s purpose is to determine whether students have met specified developmental benchmarks and academic competencies upon kindergarten entry as outlined by state guidelines. The screener covers six major domains of school readiness and is available in English and Spanish. Individual reports can be generated for parents, while teachers, school administrators and district personnel can generate a variety of student and classroom reports. Because TX-KEA was developed with federal funds, districts can access the screener and its reporting features at no cost.
