The Teaching Free Enterprise program from SMU offers vertically aligned Social Studies
curriculum that is designed to give the teacher a fresh approach to satisfy the state assigned TEKS. These seminars offer 6 hours of Professional Development credit to fulfill both District
and State requirement [can also be counted toward G/T update}. There are four 75 minutes sessions presenting different topics to inspire both teacher and student to be better acquainted with various aspects of the Free Enterprise system. Potential economic
oriented topics covered at this event are Regulation, Development, Markets, Trade, Labor and Happiness.Each module comes complete with a teacher’s guidebook filled with student
engagement strategies that promote the higher level thinking skills that all educators crave. Join us for a stimulating event that will leave you wanting to discover more. A $25 travel stipend is also offered to those attending. Join us on the Region 5 campus to experience where world changers are shaped.
