Big Thicket Coop: The Intersection between 504, RtI, Dyslexia, IDEA, and Child Find

The similarities and differences in providing services and procedural safeguards identified under 504 and IDEA will be presented.  The identification process of 504 and IDEA students and the role of RTI will be addressed in this session.  Determining if Dyslexia evaluations should be conducted by the 504 process or the special education process, and the difference between accommodations and modifications will be reviewed.  Progress monitoring under IDEA, 504 and RTI will be addressed in this session.
The session will include a review of the CAP and its impact on Identification, evaluation and offers of FAPE.
