PGC Reading Series Training - LET'S GET REAL !




      


Learning how to read to learn requires the reader to intentionally select skills and strategies in order to think within, beyond, and about factual texts. In this three part series, participants will deepen content knowledge and examine the TEKS SE's for information texts. The speaker will be LIVESTREAMED  from ESC 20 and participants will be actively participanting at ESC5.  Participants should attend all 3 days.

 

Dec. 14, 2017  - Day 1 Learn how teachers and readers plan for comprehension

Feb. 15, 2018 - Day 2 Learn how to teach students to summarize, make inferences, and process Informational Texts 

Mar. 27, 2018 - Day 3 Learn strategies for teaching students to go beyond the words on the page and think critically about texts.
